Getting There is Half the Fun??

Dean is so punctual!  I'm walking out the door at ten a.m. sharp with one suitcase and a backpack.  Everything fits neatly in the back of the vehicle (do you call it a truck?  I don't know!) and is proves that Dean is great at Tetris!  We barrel down the road, heading for West Palm Beach and  a couple of hours later we are at Fort Drum, the first rest stop after Yeehaw Junction.  They have all the fast-food stores and while Tobi and Dean get hot dogs I find that Wendy's has a 300 calorie Parmesian chicken salad and it's really very good!

What are the odds??? Robin and I have the same sneakers!!

So much to choose from!  And there were even more across the way!

Maureen, Robin, and Ma meet us here and there's a grand reunion!  Our last cruise was in 2018!!  Can that be true?  Guess so!

We're back on the road and get to the Double Tree by Hilton before three.  We check in and our goodie bag includes two bottles of water and two delicious cookies!  Maureen scores most of mine;  but I just had to have a taste!   She's gone to check out her new office in West Palm but promised not to be gone long.  

Yum!!

We'll probably go to dinner here at the hotel because no one wants to drive any more today!  Tomorrow we'll board the Harmony of the Seas.  I missed the window for the discounted internet package;  but it will be worth it to have email and blogging privileges!!

When Maureen gets back from her fact-finding mission and Dean returns from getting gas we all go down to thee hotel's restaurant for dinner.  Hmmmm...there is no one in the restaurant!  We sit down and the manager (?) brings us menus and says that his cook isn't here yet;  but he's sure she'll be along shortly!  He's turn on the ovens and the friers, so everything is ready for her!  We can't help giggling!!  when Dean asks if he has wine glasses he says he has to go check!  Robin gets her chardonnay in a real wine glass but he brings four other glasses (highball?  Scotch??) for the wine that Dean and Tobi have brought.  He doesn't even charge a corkage fee!

Mostly we all have salads since the non-stop feasting begins tomorrow!  Mine is really, really good and everyone else is happy, tot.  Dean got the chicken, corn chowder and that is well received, too.

Tomorrow we'll meet for breakfast at 8:00 but no one wants the full buffet!!  I'm thinking oatmeal and coffee will be more than sufficient!
